Cheap Date Night - 9/1/2010
Why is it called “Cheap Date Night”?
Because that’s what they named it when the event was created, long before we were around. Anyways – It’s always been GV’s most popular event and it happens on the first Wed of every month.
We serve you a flight of four “Cheap & Cheerful” wines (tasty, ready to drink wines that you can take home for under $20 a bottle – plus a 10% discount on all retail purchases the night of the event) alongside an array of tasty tidbits; focusing bite-sized grilled cheese sandwiches, featuring the gourmet cheeses we sell by the pound and tasty accompaniments (prosciutto, fig jam, fresh basil, etc…).
The wine and munchie menu changes each month.

The cost is $22 per person and that covers 2oz of each wine, a tasting portion of each of our featured munchies, tax & gratuity An ala carte dessert menu is available as well *Our menu includes meat. Sandwiches are pre-made, before the event and modifications cannot be made during our event. However, should you have any dietary restrictions please call or email the shop to let us know a minimum of one week in advance and we will do our best to accomodate you. 21 & over only **we apologize however "groupons" are not redeemable for this event.

Join winemaker, Marty Mathis, to celebrate the recent release of his 2007 “Lateral” blend as well as other tasty wines from the Kathryn Kennedy label. Special pricing will be offered on ALL Kathryn Kennedy wines.

Kathryn Kennedy Winery is a local, family-owned winery in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This Certified Organic winery enjoys a strong, local following as well as national acclaim. Here at The Grapevine, we love em' too! Kathryn Kennedy's "Lateral" – Every year this wonderful blend is a big hit with all of our customers and staff (especially Justin M). Its rich and fruit forward style make it a great wine to drink now or to lie down for a few years. Lateral is inspired by the famous wines of the St. Emilion district of Bordeaux. The blending of Cabernet Franc and Merlot is the cornerstone of this model. Another key to Lateral’s consistent quality is the use of multiple vineyards from more than one region. Winemakers Marty Mathis has been carefully assembling the Lateral blend for over a decade. This label has become known as a "go to wine" for the dinner table. It's complexity and likeable mouth feel lends well to pairing with every dish on the table. The 2007 version is slightly juicier than 2006 was, hitting the mark as a medium to full bodied blend, which will definitely be ready to drink within the first three years.
Beer Garden Tasting & BBQ
Come to The Grapevine’s very first “Beer Garden Tasting & BBQ” featuring beers from Grand Teton Brewing Company of Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Drake’s Brewing of San Leandro, California. We’ll be firing up the BBQ for a build-your-own burger bar with a variety of gourmet cheeses & all the fixins’. Each brewer will be pouring 5 or 6 of their specialty craft brews (your choice).

A Taste of Oktoberfest (Grapevine Style)
Enjoy one of Germany’s most popular events, right here, in the heart of Willow Glen. We will be featuring 5 of the Official Oktoberfest beers poured alongside an array of tasty, German inspired munchies. The evening menu will include:
A selection of German Cheeses, Smoked Bratwurst, Obatzda (German Cheese Dip) served with bread and veggies for dipping, Sauerbraten, and refreshing raspberry sorbet shots to cleanse your palate.
